Can You Really Put a Fire Pit on a Table?
Yes! This easy-to-install kit comes with a concrete fire bowl, burner, lava rock, gas hose and regulator. All you need is a 20-pound propane gas tank.
The tabletop fire pit sits on top of your table, and the gas hose feeds through a hole to the tank underneath. Typically, people use these fire bowls with umbrella tables, since the top already has the center hole built-in.
That said, you can use the bowl on various types of tables, since the concrete exterior stays cool to the touch. Just drill a hole through the tabletop and make sure the surface can support ~40 lbs of weight.
Alternatively, you could install these portable fire pits on an outdoor countertop or wide ledge. In fact, some people have placed them near their backyard fountains or on top of concrete posts. If you have a place to store/hide the gas tank, you don’t have to run an expensive gas line.
Larger Table Toppers VS Smaller Fire Bowls:
Compared to fire pits that run on bio-ethanol or rubbing alcohol, this fire bowl provides a much longer run time. For example, a 20-lb propane tank provides approximately 40 hours of flames, whereas ethanol gives you about 3 hours max.
In addition, the larger size can put out more heat than other ethanol-burning tabletop fire bowls.So, if you’re looking for more heat, this table topper may be the better option.
Note: This fire pit table topper has a switch that allows you to control the flame size. (This is not an ignition switch, so you do have to light the fire manually.)

Can You Convert the Fire Pit to Natural Gas? The fire bowl is set up for propane gas. Although some customers have converted to system to work with natural gas, the manufacturer does not provide a conversion kit.
Does the Fire Bowl Come with a Protective Cover? The package does not include a top lid or metal cover. However, Fire Topper does sell a matching weather-resistant cover for under $20.
Can You Replace the Lava Rock with Fire Glass? Some people prefer colorful, reflective fire glass instead of the natural lava that comes in the kit. It’s totally fine to switch out the medium to a color you like.
The manufacturer recommends using between 5-10 lbs of fire glass. If you want to save money and use less, simply add the glass on top of the lava rock. See different fire glass colors.
